Three WCS Athletes Named Mr. Football Semifinalists

Mr. Football award

Three Williamson County Schools athletes have been named semifinalists for the Tennessee Titan’s Mr. Football award.

The award recognizes the top football players in nine classifications of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA). The players are chosen based on their performance in the 2018 season, their academic performance and their character.

In Class 3A, Fairview High’s Kam Harris-Lusk is one of five semifinalists. In Class 5A, Page High’s Michael Burdick was named a semifinalist. Finally, in Class 6A, Independence High’s T.J. Sheffield was named a semifinalist.

In addition to other honors, Kam was selected for the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA) East-West All-Star game; Michael was named Region 5-5A MVP; and T.J. has committed to playing for Purdue University.

“We are excited about three of our star football players being nominated as a Mr. Football Semifinalist,”said WCS Athletic Director Jeremy Qualls. “These three exemplify what a student-athlete embodies in WCS. They are leaders not only on the field but within the halls of their schools and within their school communities.”

The semifinalists will be narrowed down to the top three in each class on November 12. The winners will be announced on November 25 at Nissan Stadium.
