2012-Halloween-Blowout

The 14th Annual Halloween Blowout is happening at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Boulevard. Young spirits ages 2-12 and younger (accompanied by an adult) can participate in this fun spooky evening from 6-8:30 p.m. Little goblins can play all kinds of carnival games in the gym like ring toss, pick a duck game, bean bag game, balloon dart game, concession stand (cost incurred) and more. Be sure to wear your most unique costume so that you can enter our Halloween Costume Contest. If you think you have the scariest scream in town, be sure to enter our Scariest Scream Contest. Don’t forget to have your fortune told this year by Fairview’s own fortune teller! At the end of the night, you can take part in our balloon drop where over 2,000 balloons filled with goodies will be dropped from the ceiling! Enjoy this fantastic event with your little goblin! Cost is $5 per child. Please register by calling (615) 799-9331.

Later in the month look for The Haunted Forrest back at Bowie Park. The Fairview High School Drama Club and the Fairview Parks Department have teamed up to put on the scare. This event will be two nights only, October 26th and 27th from 7-11 p.m. The theme this year is Frightful Fairy Tales. “This year’s trail is almost triple the length of last year’s”, says Jenny Herrera, Bowie Park’s Program Director. “A forest is already creepy at night. Add in a Mad Hatter, an Ax Man, and Wraiths ready to take your soul…you will be scared out of your mind the entire 1.5 mile trail!”
Tickets are only $10, parking is free.
