A popular new toy called Bunchems has turned out to be a huge pain for parents and their kids. Bunchems are brightly colored balls the size of a quarter covered with soft, squishy spikes that interlock with each other to build any shape possible, like LEGOS. The toy might sound fun, but parents throughout the country have taken to the web to warn the spongy little spheres are straight from the devil.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the toy is on Target’s top holiday gifts. And there are parents proudly sharing their kids’ fun creations on sites like Instagram.
One reviewer on Amazon wrote:
‘Buy this toy for someone if you hate them or their child. They are the most incredible choking hazards on the planet. They bring pain and misery, tears, fighting, broken and ripped hair, and questions of one’s sanity in handling life in general.’
A Mega Pack of Bunchems runs about $40 at Target. According to over 200 reviews on Amazon, this may not be worth it. Of course there are the minority of reviewers on Amazon who think this is ridiculous and is just bad parenting, since there are clear warnings on the front and back of the package:
‘Let’s say you have a Honda, and got into an accident. Would you call the dealership or manufacturer? No. Blame yourself, or the at-fault person…this infuriates me. This is such a creative toy. Builds motor skills, and enhances creativity.’
So if you see the creative and motor skills enhancements that this toy brings to be greater than the possibility of having to cut your child’s hair off, here is an instructional video on how to remove Bunchems:
