There were quite a few eateries that closed its doors in Williamson County. Here’s our list of places where the last meal was served in 2017.

4. Mac’s Grub Shak

Mac’s Grub Shak, a popular Spring Hill restaurant, closed on Labor Day.

It was announced on Facebook by its owner Michael McCray:

“I wanted to share with everyone my thanks for supporting Mac’s Grub Shak since we opened in 2013.. Labor day September 3, will be our last day here at the shak.. I want everyone to know how much it has meant to me to be part of this community over the last few years..If you haven’t been out to the shak in a while, please come on out for one last meal before we close our doors. Our last meal will be served September 3rd Thank you so much Spring Hill and to all my friends.”

Mac’s Grub Shak was known for their extensive menu, in which they feature 30 specialty burgers, unique pizza options and sandwiches.

However, for those who liked the restaurant, all is not lost.

New owners are planning to re-open the restaurant, albeit with changes. First and foremost: the name. Now known simply as “Mac’s” owners Monte and Beth Mertons, parents of Adam Mertons, who worked for McCray and Mac’s, hope to open by the new year.

“We feel great about it,” Monte Mertons said.

“There will be the same high-quality food,” McCray said. “They will make some changes, and some upgrades to the facility.”
