Local nonprofit, The Well Outreach is pleased to introduce their new executive director, Shelly Sassen. Shelly has joined The Well Outreach with several years of experience in both business ownership and ministry management. She has a heart for serving those in need in Middle Tennessee and has lived in this area for 35 years. Shelly and her husband recently purchased a home in Spring Hill and are excited to invest into this community for years to come.
This new addition to The Well staff comes during a time of tremendous growth and a need to lay a foundation for the future. The Well Outreach has experienced double-digit growth for consecutive years and families served is up 35% this year over last. Enormous growth has been met with enormous community support. “I have met so many amazing people this past month,” says director Shelly Sassen, “churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals come together and support The Well time and time again. The Well Outreach is truly a community non-profit.” Sassen explains that there are heartbreaking stories that bring people into The Well Outreach for food assistance, but to see how people come together to feed those in need is encouraging.
This year The Well Outreach celebrates 13 years of serving those in need. With a location on Main Street in Spring Hill they offer food assistance through the food pantry, JetPack program, Snack Stash and Mobile Food Pantries. An average of 130 families are served each month in the food pantry and over 300 children are given JetPacks each week. Thousands are served by this nonprofit committed to making sure our neighbors never go hungry or feel alone in their struggle.
