The Village Hosts Community Candlelight Service

The holiday season is all about helping neighbors that are in need. The Village Church in Nolensville is hosting a community outdoor candlelight service on Sunday, December 18th from 5-6 pm at the Lenox Village Town Center pavilion to celebrate the holiday season and sing Christmas Carols. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided by Mama’s Java.

In addition, they will be hosting a collection effort to gather pre-packaged snacks and canned foods benefitting the Shayne Elementary Backpack Food Program. The program was started by the staff and PTA of the school to provide food for the weekend or holidays for children when school lunch is not available. Teachers discreetly place 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 snacks, a can of vegetables and a can of fruit in a bag which is then placed into the student’s backpack. The program, though intended for children most in need, is available to all children at the school. The bags are funded by community donations and grants and assembled by volunteers.

Come and enjoy the season, help those in your community, and share what the holiday season really means to you with some coffee, candles, and carols. Though donations of food are appreciated, everything is free for the whole family and open to the public.

The Village Church is dedicated to helping those in the community including schools and other people in need often hosting events like this throughout the year. They meet Sundays starting at 9 and 11 am at Sunset Middle School on Sunset Trail in the Lenox Village/ Nolensville community.
