The Fainting Goat is Officially Open in Spring Hill

The Fainting Goat

Spring Hill’s newest coffee shop, The Fainting Goat Coffee Shop (located at 5321 Main Street) has officially opened its doors. Owned by Spring Hill locals Alex and Susana Allen, the couple opened the shop over the weekend with limited hours.

Susana Allen told us that Monday, October 9, was their first official first day of business opening at 6 am. The coffee shop is open each day at 6 am closing at 8 pm Sunday- Thursday, and closing at 9pm Friday and Saturday.

Offerings on the menu include bakery items from Windmill Cafe with a selection of gluten-free items.

Susana told us a few things to note about the newly opened coffee shop. “We are the only location in Spring Hill to offer Matchless Coffee Soda created by a Nashville company.”

“Yes, we have pumpkin spice items on our menu,” says Susana. “So far the customer favorite drink is the Horchata Latte topped with goat’s milk caramel.”

The Fainting Goat is located in a historic home which was rezoned back in 2012 from residential to commercial and is located next to Fireflies Boutique. In keeping it local, the couple plans to offer spaces for gatherings large and small.

Prior to opening, the couple shared with us the inspiration for the name of the coffee shop.

“Originally we thought about something elusive to Main Street and somewhat poking fun at the traffic issues we all go through while traveling on 31 every single day, but after a conversation with a friend (over coffee) and brainstorming about the name, he mentioned the ‘Fainting Goat.’ We googled it and found out that not only are they native to Tennessee, but that after watching several videos we could not stop laughing! So we decided that this is the perfect name for the shop. We love Tennessee and there is a certain fun and quirkiness to the name that describes us as a family as well.”
