The 2015 Franklin Wine Festival Breaks Records

The 2015 Franklin Wine Festival presented by Cool Springs Wines & Spirits and supported by Nissan to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters broke new records for 2015 raising more than $230,000 for the charity last Friday, October 16 at The Factory at Franklin. Approximately 2,000 attendees enjoyed the more than 400 wines offered throughout the Factory at Franklin and generously big on several auction items and supported a record-breaking “King and Queen of the Vines” endeavor as well.

Franklin resident Susan Moody was crowned “Queen of the Vines” after a record-breaking fundraising campaign resulting in $12,528 for Big Brothers Big Sisters. This is the highest total of any contestant in the five years the competition has been held. Brentwood resident David Webber was crowned “King of the Vines” after raising $7,086 for the charity. The 2015 Royal Court raised more than $33,000 in total.
“The Franklin Wine Festival is an important fundraising endeavor for Big Brothers Big Sisters,” commented Carlyle Carroll, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. He continued, “We so appreciate the many sponsors, attendees, restaurants, wine distributors, and volunteers who help make this event possible.”

To date, the event has raised nearly $1.4 million for Big Brothers Big Sisters in its eleven year legacy. Event proceeds are used to help serve children with a mentor through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Funding is specifically used to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety, and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships. ­
