As the premier youth soccer club in the state of Tennessee, Tennessee Soccer Club (TSC) will host college ID camps for both their male and female players. The camp is used to show the talents of their players to college coaches from across the area.

The boys’ camp will be on February 11th, while the girls’ camp will take place on February 25th and will feature coaches from Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, and Alabama. These coaches are from schools at every level of intercollegiate soccer from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, and the junior college level.

TSC’s Dean Blain gave us a rundown of what the college ID camp will be like. The day includes practice sessions where the players are trained by college staff and observed by other college staff. This environment replicates how college training sessions will be and introduces the players to the demands and expectations of the college environment. It also gives the coaches a great opportunity to see how players train and apply themselves. A Q&A panel will be held with the college staff on all things recruiting as well as personality traits schools and coaches are looking for in the players they recruit. This provides the opportunity for players and parents to hear first-hand what schools look for and how the process works. Scrimmage type games will end the day. College coaches can observe players in game situations; again a valuable environment for both players and college coaches to experience.

“TSC is focused on the development and progression of our male players from the club game in to the college game. The quality and progress that our Boys Program has shown over the past few years is fantastic, and these players need the support and recognition for their achievements that they deserve. We feel this event will help expose and promote our players and introduce TSC to the many colleges in the area who may not already be familiar with us,” said Tennessee Soccer Club.
