Tennessee’s premier soccer organization, the Tennessee Soccer Club, is preparing for their biggest fundraiser of the year with the 24-Hour Soccer-A-Thon.
Tennessee SC and their event partner Special Olympics are using the Soccer-A-Thon as one of their major fundraisers this year. Beginning at 4pm on February 26, the goal is to play soccer for 24 consecutive hours at the Robert Ring Arena in Franklin. A portion of the donations will be donated to Special Olympics, while the remaining will be go to Tennessee SC’s Futures Fund and overall operating budget. Tennessee SC is requesting every player raise $75 in donations in order to participate.
Tennessee SC Tournament and Event Director Jimmy Drain said, “We are hopeful to generate $50,000. After only 11 days of fundraising, we are already at $7,500. Donations will be accepted until we complete the event on Saturday February 27th. We might even extend the donation period beyond the event if we feel our players can still generate more interest.”
