Tennessee kicks off the Madness

Iowa failed to ever deliver a finishing blow and allowed Tennessee to keep hanging around. That resulted in the Vols taking the Hawkeyes to overtime where the big orange dominated.

Tennessee didn’t allow a field goal in the extra minutes and outscored Iowa 14-1.

An Antonio Barton three pointer from the right wing gave Tennessee their first lead with 3:12 left to play in regulation.

Although it was UT that trailed for most of the game, it was Iowa who had to force overtime.  Roy Devyn knocked down the game tying jumper with 18 seconds left and Jordan McCrae’s jumper went off the mark to send the game to an extra five minutes.

Josh Richardson had what what may end up being the dunk of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, which you can see here.

Tennessee will be right back at it on Friday, with what will be considered another winnable game with UMASS.
