For Halloween, Target launched a new line of all-inclusive Halloween costumes.
“Every child deserves to bask in the fun of a special moment,” says Julie Guggemos, senior vice president, Owned Brand Management and Product Design, Target in a release.
“And at Target, we’re out to make sure even more kids get that chance this Halloween. We’ve seen how little design details in our Cat & Jack adaptive apparel and Pillowfort sensory-friendly pieces can have a huge impact. Now we’re bringing that same spirit of inclusivity to our new Hyde & EEK! Boutique kids’ costumes. We hope these creations will spark some huge smiles—and bring a little extra joy to our guests’ everyday lives.”
For kids who use wheelchairs, Target has two costume options – a pirate ship and a princess carriage. After the initial launch of these new adaptable costumes, some items sold out quickly but Target has restocked online. These costumes easily attach to a wheelchair with hook and loop closures and costumes open in the back for ease of dressing.
In addition, Target is carrying two sensory-friendly Halloween costumes – a unicorn and shark. These costumes feature flat seams and no tags for an ultra-comfy feel and a hidden opening in the front for abdominal access. Hood, fins, tail, and wings are removable.
Costume are $20 – $45. Shop the entire collection here.
