Take in Fall Colors on Free Guided Hike Through Timberland Park

The fall colors are becoming more vibrant each day at Timberland Park in Franklin.

Timberland, a great place to get back to nature, observe wildlife and birds, and enjoy being outdoors, is offering free guided trail hikes on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. The hikes will be led by park naturalist Michael Culbreth and will focus on native plants and animals, as well as area history.

The hike is about one mile in length (45-90 minutes) and has some strenuous sections. Participants should bring along water and wear closed toe shoes. Children should be at least 7 years of age and accompanied by parents.

Registration is preferred, but not required, at www.wcparksandrec.com, code #8152.

Timberland Park is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.

The 72-acre park is located on the historic Natchez Trace Pkwy. just south of the famous “Trace” bridge over Hwy. 96 West and is managed by Williamson County Parks and Recreation.
