Franklin’s Ethan Browne set a state record in last weekend’s Tennessee State High School Swim and Diving championship with a time of :54.75 in the 100-meter breaststroke.

Browne was one of three locals to win individual events as Christ Presbyterian’s Tatum Wade won the girls 200-yard and 500-yard freestyles and Brentwood’s Jessica Wingo won the girls 50-yard freestyle.
Harpeth Hall won the girls team state championship while Baylor won for the boys. They were both repeat champions.
Locally, Brentwood had the best finish in the girls division, finishing seventh with 121 points. Others in the top 25 were CPA (40) and Ravenwood (25).
Brentwood’s boys also finished in seventh with 115.5 points. Behind them in the top 25 was Centennial (67), Franklin (36), and CPA (30).
The Middle Tennessee High School Swimming Association was to have a banquet honoring the season on Feb. 18, but weather forced a postponement. It is now set for Feb. 25.
