Seven members of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Swift Water Rescue Team are headed to South Carolina this morning. FEMA requested the team’s assistance in flooded areas. While the threat from Hurricane Joaquin is fading, record amounts of rainfall have been recorded in the coastal area and more rain is expected.
The team is being deployed for seven days to assist in the rescue of stranded and injured people. Seven firefighters from Brentwood Fire Department and Franklin Fire Department will also join rescue efforts in Charleston.
