Nolensville High Assistant Principal Amy Maffei has been selected as the next principal of Sunset Middle School replacing Tim Brown who is retiring. Interim Superintendent Jason Golden introduced Maffei to the Sunset Middle faculty today.

“Amy is a perfect fit for Sunset Middle,” said Golden. “Because she has worked at both Nolensville and Ravenwood high schools, she already has relationships with many of the families she will be serving. In addition, she is a proven instructional leader with a solid understanding of what it takes for academic success.”

Maffei began her career in education in 2000. During that time, she taught science at middle and high schools in Ohio, California and Tennessee. She joined WCS in 2009 as a teacher at Ravenwood High. In 2013, she was promoted to assistant principal at Ravenwood before transferring to Nolensville High in the same role in 2017.

“After serving on the administrative teams at both Ravenwood and Nolensville high schools, I am thrilled about the opportunity to continue to work with the families in this area,” said Maffei. “I thoroughly enjoyed my years teaching middle school, and I’m excited to support the faculty and staff of Sunset Middle School as we care for students while helping to prepare them to be successful at their high school destinations.”

Maffei earned her Bachelor’s in Secondary Education from the University of Dayton and her Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

She will begin her new role July 1, 2019.
