Summit Underdog Against Top Ranked Ravenwood

Williamson County Football

By: Amber Pennycuff

Summit High School (1-8, 0-5) will take on Ravenwood (8-1, 5-0) at home for its last game in the regular season on Friday night. After a tough loss to Brentwood (3-6, 2-3) two weeks ago, the Spartans will have their work cut out for them, yet again, this week.

The Spartans single win is attributed to the Spring Hill (1-8) victory in the first game of the season.  Since then, Summit has been on an eight-game losing streak and faces the number one team in the district on Friday.

One thing that you can note about Summit is that in every single game they have at least scored one touchdown to put points on the board.  That is more than you can say for most teams.  The Spartans drive is immense and the determination is there.

Ravenwood and Summit are at the opposite ends of the spectrum, when it comes to rankings.  It is the last ranked team versus the top ranked team.  A Spartans win would be the biggest upset in the district this year.  And at the end of the season, anything is possible.

The Spartans took a much needed bye before this game and will need all the strength they can possibly muster.  All-star Dee Hunter injured his ankle last game against Brentwood and should be up and ready by Friday.

Summit will kick-off at home on Friday against Ravenwood at 7 p.m.

The Williamson Source will keep you updated on the Spartans throughout this season and be looking for updates on basketball in the upcoming weeks!
