Summit Student Performed in Macy’s Great American Marching Band

Williamson County was represented last week during the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Nathan Crane Macys ParadeNathan Crane, 17, a senior at Summit High School marched and played the baritone in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City as a member of the Macy’s Great American Marching Band.

The band is comprised of high school students from around the USA and are selected by an audition of music playing and marching ability. Nathan was the solo student from Williamson County Schools and only one of three students to represent the State of Tennessee in the band.

The band is under the direction of Auburn University’s Dr. Richard Good and assisted by many talented music educators from across the country. The 185 musicians were complemented by approximately 40 flags and dancers.
