Behind the Scenes With Studio Tenn’s “A Christmas Carol”

Holiday Header
Studio Tenn has the ultimate holiday event for you. Their re-imagining of  “A Christmas Carol” (adapted by Paula Y. Flautt) returns this year for the third year in a row. Several cast members from previous “Carol” performances will return, including Chip Arnold as Ebeneezer Scrooge. Arnold has been listed by the NY Times as one of the best Scrooges to see this year!

“A Christmas Carol” runs from Dec 12-22nd. Unlike previous years, the show will take place at TPAC in Nashville (505 Deaderick Street).

Studio Tenn not only infuses a refreshing take on this classic tale but also incorporates beautiful set elements. The set design is inspired by the Victorian/Industrial Era, honing in on the days of Charles Dickens with a modern twist.

“The contemporary twist we have fashioned with the set, choreography and costuming has really resonated with our modern audience,” said Company Artistic Director Matt Logan.

Studio Tenn is also working with the Humanities Outreach Tennesee (HOT) Programs for Schools with this show, including performances for more than 7,000 area students.

Studio Tenn’s Managing Director Jake Speck is excited to give students the opportunity to see live theatre.

“Engaging with and educating students is an important and integral part of our mission. Several of our company members got their first taste of theatre as students, so we have experienced first-hand the significant impact that live theatre can have on the minds and ambitions of young people.”
