Studio Tenn is kicking off its 10th anniversary season with the ABBA-filled hit musical, Mamma Mia! at the Jamison Theater in the Factory at Franklin. The show will open August 16 and run through September 8.

Mamma Mia! takes the audience inside the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father through the story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs, propelling this enchanting tale of love, laughter, and friendship into an unforgettable theatrical experience.

Emily Urbanski, most recently seen in Studio Tenn’s Grease and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, takes the stage as the headstrong Sophie, who is determined to have what her mother, Donna, never had: a traditional family and a father to walk her down the aisle.

Urbanski shares the stage with Erica Aubrey, her real-life vocal instructor at Belmont University and who will portray Donna, Sophie’s mother.

“It feels surreal to be taking the stage alongside Mrs. Erica and I am so thankful for her guidance every day,” Urbanski says. “Performing in Mamma Mia! together is such an incredible learning opportunity that goes beyond the work in our lessons and I am humbled to a part of this experience.”

Aubrey, a Belmont University musical theatre instructor whose talent has spanned across the country, takes inspiration from her mother-in-law for the role of Donna.

“Donna is a hard-working woman with a strong sense of independence, which often drew me to my mother-in-law for inspiration,” Aubrey said. “She was a single mother who raised two boys and went back to college in her 40’s, finding success in a major corporation in New York City. She is an incredible success story and is definitely my inspiration for the role.”

Urbanski is excited for audiences to attend Mamma Mia!, a production so full of heart that with Studio Tenn’s signature twist, it will have audiences dancing away smiling and laughing.

Mamma Mia! will take the stage at the Jamison Theater located in The Factory at Franklin from August 16 through September 8. Tickets and more information are available online at or by calling (615) 541-8200.
