Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, November 23, 2017. In the past, retailers have chosen to open on Thanksgiving Day to get a boost on Black Friday sales. However, many local shopping establishments have decided to close on Thanksgiving.

According to a recent survey conducted by BestBlackFriday.com, they found 57.53 percent of respondents do not like the idea of stores operating on Thanksgiving.
