Step into the Library in 2013

Here as a quick list of the adventures and activities that await you in your local library. Don’t miss a minute of the exciting programming that 2013 holds in store for you and your family.

FOR ADULTS

WCPL Socks for Seniors Drive:  Bring cheer this winter with a pair of new socks to warm the hearts and cover the cold feet of the senior citizens of NHC Healthcare, Fairground Street location.  All types of socks accepted: tube socks, “gripper” soles, and funny holiday styles as well.  The sock collection box is in the Main library lobby through Jan. 31.

January Computer Class Registration:  Begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2.  Register online by clicking “Computer Classes” from the WCPLtn home page, or call 595-1243 during regular library hours.  (No email or voicemail registrations)

Writers Critique Group:  10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 & 19.  This local writers gathering for adult authors provides a serious, courteous critique of members’ work.

Art Display:  Photographs with poetry and paintings by Veera and Neth Rajaratnam can be seen in the gallery hall during January.

Grid Row:  Pearre Creek Elementary Art Students of Katy Lane display their art work in the new books area in January.  Her students have been studying “Regionalism” which is reflected in their work. Sponsored by the Arts Council of Williamson County.

Professional Musicians Needed:  Generous singers, songwriters, professional musicians to perform at the Library for the 2013 Concert Series. Bring the music home! For more information please contact Tina, [email protected]

FOR TEENS

Teen Advisory Group (TAG):  10 a.m. Saturday, January 5.  Join us for the first meeting of the New Year.  Come and help us decide what our special project for the Library will be in the spring.

Concert for Teens by Telepathic Artisan:  2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5.  You are invited to hear metal band Telepathic Artisan rock the house.  The band is made up of Williamson County high school Seniors – Paul Neelley on drums, Ben Retersdorf on synthesizer/keyboard, Sam Phillips on bass and vocals, and Glen Volmer on guitar.

Story Times will resume beginning Tuesday, Jan. 8.
