Stein Mart’s Return to Brentwood

In March, a new Kroger opened at 210 Franklin Road in Brentwood, expanding a former Harris Teeter building. As the new Kroger opened, a Kroger about 1/2 a mile down Franklin Road at 300 Franklin Road–in the Brentwood Place shopping area– closed. The building has remained vacant since that time and a complete renovation of Brentwood Place has been in the works. The multi-tenant buildings being renovated are owned by Baker Storey McDonald Properties, Inc., with construction being done by Michael Hindman Architects.

At last week’s Williamson Inc roundtable event, City of Brentwood City Manager Kirk Bednar and Brentwood Mayor Regina Smithson confirmed that Kroger won’t be vacant too much longer. Stein Mart will occupy part of this space. Bednar said that Stein Mart will occupy at least half to two -thirds of the space. Another retailer will occupy the rest of the space.

The area of the shopping center previously used by Kroger will look the below picture, which mimics the other side of the shopping center, which has already been renovated.

Just two years ago, Stein Mart moved out of the Brentwood Place shopping center and Nordstrom Rack opened in their location. When they vacated their Brentwood location, Stein Mart opened a new store in Cool Springs.
Kroger opened its new location at 210 Franklin Road with its grand opening held on Wednesday, March 16th. The 84,000 square foot store replaced the store at 300 Franklin Road and employs over 200 total associates when you count those who moved from the old store.

According to a corporate representative from Stein Mart, the Brentwood Place location will opening in March of 2017.
