What is the SI of Franklin?

The name Soroptimist means “best for women” and that’s what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women be their best.

Soroptimist is an international organization established in 1921 for business and professional women who desire and work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. Almost 95,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community and international based projects that benefit women across the globe. Locally, SI Franklin supports the funding of scholarships for women seeking higher and continuing education.  The Soroptimist Scholarship was established to benefit students who live in Williamson County and assists women who, either financially or by family circumstances, would not otherwise be able to complete a higher education degree and establish themselves as part of their community workforce.

In addition, SI Franklin supports Bridges Domestic Violence Center, the only shelter for domestic violence victims in Williamson County.  Breast cancer support and awareness, End Slavery Tennessee, and other local charities are also beneficiaries.
