We had the opportunity to speak with Candace Nelson, creator of Sprinkles, who told us it was her friend Reese Witherspoon who helped her secure a location for Sprinkles Cupcakes in Nashville, saying that Nashville was always on her list of expansion but finding the right space was taking longer than expected. When Witherspoon began working on her Draper James location, Witherspoon contacted her and said she had the perfect space for the Sprinkles Cupcake Nashville.
Nelson and Witherspoon met in Los Angeles and became great friends. Nelson was even in attendance at the Grand Opening party of Draper James which took place recently giving her an opportunity to check on the progression of construction at Sprinkles. Nelson told us she regretted not having more time to spend in Nashville as she is heading back to Los Angeles for other commitments but plans to return to Nashville soon with visions of hot chicken and other sights on her list of “to-dos.”
If you haven’t heard, Sprinkles sets itself apart from other bakeries by offering a 24 hour cupcake ATM. No more rushing to the bakery before it closes, you may buy a cupcake anytime of day with the cupcake ATM. It works like other ATMs, with a touchscreen selection of five different flavors: red velvet cupcake, vanilla cupcake, double chocolate cookie, peanut butter pretzel chip cookie and salted oatmeal cornflake cookie. After you have made your selection, a video appears on the screen showing your selection moving through the ATM. A door opens delivering your boxed cupcake.
Nashville is the first Sprinkles location in Tennessee with 18 other location across the country. In addition to cupcakes, the menu at Sprinkles includes ice cream, coffee, and cookies. Sprinkles is located at 2606 12th Avenue South,Nashville.
