The Spring Station Middle competition cheer squad made waves at the 2018 Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) National High School Cheerleading Championship held in Orlando on February 10-11.
The squad competed in the Junior High Game Day Division against dozens of middle schools from across the country. The Game Day Division of the competition consisted of a band dance, situational sideline cheer, time-out cheer and a traditional school fight song. The team was scored on technique, crowd appeal and visual appeal as well as the routine itself.
“The girls performed a near flawless routine during the finals,” said SSMS cheer coach Margaret Scott. “This is a year-round commitment, and they put in countless hours of practice.”
