On May 10th, Chapman’s Retreat Elementary School in Spring Hill became home to a vegetable garden that’s the first of its kind in the county. Each student gets to grow a plant in the garden, which includes vegetables, herbs, a butterfly garden and a worm bin. The school is partnering with a local food pantry so that the vegetables grown over the summer can be used to feed families in need. Be sure to check out the May 24 issue of IN FOCUS for a video about the garden.
