UPDATE: Spring Hill Mayor Matt Fitterer shared that Whataburger and their representatives did not show up to the July 28 Planning Commission Work Session. According to the Planning Commission By-Laws, the application will now be pushed to the September voting meeting.
Original Story
The Spring Hill Planning Commission will discuss plans during a meeting today, Monday, July 28th, for a Whataburger to be located at 3004 Belshire Village Drive. The property is approximately 1.12 acres.
Whataburger previously received approval in 2022 to open in the old Burger King site on Hwy 31; however, Whataburger chose not to move forward.
The request submitted is for the conversion and reuse of an existing property with a drive-thru; the property was previously occupied by KFC, which closed in 2022. The plan proposes a new pedestrian sidewalk and crosswalk extending from the existing sidewalk along Belshire Way.
The proposed brick veneer exterior will be painted Arizona Tan and October Sky. The elevation facing Main Street will have each module painted one of the two colors with the windows between. The HVAC enclosure will be wooden.
Whataburger opened in Brentwood in April 2025. The burger restaurant, headquartered in San Antonio, is celebrating 75 years of business this year.
