Flood Warning: Dam Breaks for Raiders

school-headerSpring Hill bent but did not break for three quarters Friday night against McGavock.

But when the dam did finally break, the McGavock flood came rushing in.

Fourth Quarter Fury

Late in the third quarter Spring Hill still stood a chance, down 14-7 despite struggling on offense and at stopping the run.

But McGavock ran, and ran fast and ran furious, scoring four touchdowns in the last quarter and change on route to a 42-7 flood.

For the game MHS rushed 45 times for 407 yards and four touchdowns. Along with troubles defending the run, Spring Hill committed three turnovers- one of the fourth quarter touchdowns came from a McGavock interception return for a touchdown.

Tylin Oden, who led the Red Raiders to a victory against Summit on opening night, struggled- going 7-17 for 53 yards, a touchdown and 3 interceptions. Dontae Smith piled up 71 yards on 7 carries, and Oden added 46 yards on 11 carries, for Spring Hill.

Spring Hill falls to 1-1 in 2015, and faces Page on Thursday night in its first district action of 2015.
