Second graders at Allendale are excited to be learning about the three types of matter: solids, liquids and gases. We’re engaging and challenging them by conducting a variety of experiments in class. Recently, second graders formed a hypothesis to guess the fastest way to dissolve an ice cube. Students discovered that when heat is applied, the ice melts faster! Additional experiments include “mixing and separating solids” and “gas in a bag.”

Summit High School will be hosting a FAFSA workshop on February 4 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Summit Library. If you need help filling out the FAFSA, there will be a representative from TSAC here to help. Please bring your tax information. Students who have applied for the TN Promise must fill out the FAFSA by February 15. This is a come and go event.
