Spring Hill Residents Host Mrs. Tennessee & Mrs. Mississippi Pageants

The 2018 Mrs. Tennessee and Mrs. Mississippi America Pageants, the Official State Preliminaries to the Mrs. America Pageant, takes place this weekend, March 9-11, at Spring Hill Middle School. Winners of this weekends competition advance to the Mrs. America competition in Las Vegas in August.

We spoke with Spring Hill residents, Delayna Bridges and Caitlin Jadofsky, Directors of the Mrs. Tennessee and Mrs. Mississippi Pageants, who said the contestants will be treated to a fun-filled weekend with publicity opportunities, luncheons, dinners, and opportunities to see Spring Hill

Friday, the contestants toured Rippavilla Plantation, City Hall and Ferguson Hall and dined at Delta Bound. Saturday, their itinerary includes rehearsals, judges interviews and dinner at The Olive Garden. Sunday wraps up the weekend‘s events with final competition at Spring Hill Middle School Auditorium at 3 pm. Tickets are $40 at the door.

To qualify, contestants must be at least 18 years of age, married, a resident of her state for at least 3 months (residency at a military base is acceptable) and of good moral character. Contestants will be judged in 4 categories including personal interview, beauty, swimsuit, and evening gown, each worth 25% of her total score. There are additional awards given for Fitness (Swimsuit Award), Best Smile, Photogenic, Mrs. Congeniality, and Top Ad Sales.

Mrs. Tennessee and Mrs. Mississippi’s prizes will include an expense paid trip to Mrs. America and an array of prizes and gift certificates totaling in excess of $16,000.

The reigning Mrs. Tennessee, Virginia Mulrooney, and the reigning Mrs. Mississippi, Tiffany Stone, competed in the 2018 Mrs. America Pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada, held in August 2017. The Mrs. Tennessee and Mrs. Mississippi Pageants focus on the beauty and accomplishments of married women. Pageant judges will be looking for contestants who are not only beautiful, but articulate, and well rounded whether their days are focused on family, career, civic duties, or a combination of all.
