Spring Hill Resident to Represent U.S.A in 2019 Special Olympics World Games

Taegan Martin

Taegan Martin, of Spring Hill, will represent the United States this spring at the 2019 Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi. She was honored at Monday night’s Spring Hill Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting with a Certificate of Recognition.

Martin, 29, has been swimming since she was three years old. Today, she’s the only Tennessean who will compete in this year’s Special Olympic events. She will compete in the 25-, 50- and 100-meter freestyle events, as well as the 50-meter relay.

A local parade was even held for Martin on Saturday by realtor Sue Jeffers and her realty team, who partnered with Juli Beck.
