Spring Hill Police Hosting Child Safety Seat Event

This week, September 17-23, is National Child Passenger Safety Week, and the Spring Hill police will be hosting an event in support of it.

Did you know 3 out of 4 child seats are installed or used incorrectly? With car crashes as the number one cause of death in children under the age of 12, the SHPD will host their check point on Saturday, September 23, at the Spring Hill Fire Department, Station 2, located at 4273 Port Royal Road, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. With so many different types and models of car seats, it’s no wonder many parents get frustrated or confused when installing them. Certified car seat technicians will inspect installed car seats and help families learn how to install and properly use their child’s car seat.

For more information on the different types of car seats (infant, convertible, booster) and when and how to use them, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website.
