Traffic crashes and fatalities are on the rise in Spring Hill. In an effort to keep citizens safe, the Spring Hill Police Department will be concentrating its efforts on traffic safety awareness.

Beginning today, Feb. 1, the SHPD will be informing the public of safety violations, such as speeding, seatbelt usage, car seat safety, running traffic signals/signs, and any other observed violations that put the public at risk.

During the first week (Feb. 1-7), officers will try to inform the public with mostly warnings of the violations observed to make the public aware that we care about your safety and want you to pay closer attention to detail.

During the second week (Feb. 8-14), the SHPD will be issuing citations to violators observed putting themselves or others at risk. This is an effort to reduce the number of accidents and injuries occurring within the city.

Thank you for driving safely, and please remember these slogans: “Slow Down Spring Hill-Buckle” your seat belt. “Slow Down Spring Hill-Watch” your speed. “Slow Down Spring Hill-Buckle” your child in a safety seat. “Slow Down Spring Hill-Watch” those traffic signs and signals. “Slow Down Spring Hill-Think” of any safety violations that could put you at risk. “Slow Down Spring Hill-The Spring Hill Police Department Cares.”
