Spring Hill Human Trafficking Sting Nets Multiple Arrests

SPRING HILL – A two-day undercover operation by Special Agents with the TBI Human Trafficking Unit and detectives with the Spring Hill Police Department has resulted in the arrest of several men, including three who are charged with solicitation of a minor.

Over a two-day period beginning January 9th, as part of an undercover investigation aimed at addressing human trafficking in Spring Hill, authorities placed several decoy advertisements on websites known to be linked to commercial sex. The focus of the operation was to identify individuals seeking to engage in commercial sex acts with minors and adults. 1. Please note that solicitation of a minor is not the same as sex trafficking. Clickbait/fearmongering headlines does no one any good.

  2. Um, yes, if you are paying to have sex with a CHILD, you are taking part, as a consumer, in the business of sex trafficking…. a business can not sustain without consumers. Its men like them who cause children to be captured and trafficked to be “solocited”

  3. What have you done to get the traffickers?Yall should train highway and rural officers to take down traffickers of females and males, for sex Trafficking, while In transit. You are grabbing low hanging fruit.

There are seasoned Interdiction officers that have this skill set, but yall aren’t using them. Seems like you are just placating the masses, while using your seizure monies to feed big companies that never stop human traffickers.

Citizens should speak out and hold these government agencies accountable. They know these companies are out there, but they dont kick back to the heads of those that pull the strings.

    • Agreed. We need to take out the higher up scumbags that controls it all.
In my opinion……well, forget it….. What’s the point?

      • The point is we who can do something MUST. or else our apathy could turn on us someday. They’ll…someone somewhere will come for you. Then what?

I am confused – these three are not cited for anything more than attempting to hire a prostitute. If patronizing prostitution were legal, there would be little human trafficing – as there would be no economic incentive for it. Bootleggers lost their income once alcohol was restored to legality. Why are we penalizing adults for basic behavior? Maintaining illegality of prositution encourages human trafficing and other crimes.

  5. I agree, Fred, and if those 3 guys had done that in Vegas, they’d not have been arrested. But whatever one thinks of decriminalizing prostitution, it’s not right to ruin those guys’ lives by putting them here lumped together with those who allegedly messed with minors! I don’t think it’s right at all, but lonely men looking for an “exchange” with another adult they think is consenting of their own free will is a world different from those knowingly targeting the underaged!
