Waste Management (WM) is now three days behind on its Spring Hill collection route because of the recent icy conditions. WM was unable to start trash collection for its Monday routes until about 8:45 this morning.
WM plans to run all day Friday and Saturday as well. However, more bad weather is being called for in the morning, so whether routes will continue after that this week will be an hour-by-hour call.
The garbage trucks will go as far as they can this week. For instance, if they collect all of Mon., Tues. and Wed. this week, the current plan is to start over again fresh on Monday and not continue the delayed pickup because it starts to create a situation of confusion if it goes too long. That would mean skipping Thurs. and Fri. routes and doubling up on them next week.
As for recycling, it will not be picked up this week. Next week, WM will run its regular collection routes for garbage and recycling.
