Local non-profit blood donor center, Blood Assurance, is partnering with the Spring Hill Fire Department to host a community-wide blood drive on Thursday, July 21 from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Spring Hill Fire Department Station 2, located at 4237 Port Royal Rd.

“We are happy to host this drive with Blood Assurance because we both have the same mission to help save lives across the region. We ask the community to help make Blood Assurance’s mission possible by coming out and donating blood on Thursday, July 21,” said Terry Hood, Spring Hill Fire Chief.

All blood donors will receive a complimentary “American Blood Donor” t-shirt, along with an entry to win a $100 Lowe’s gift card. Five lucky blood donors will be randomly selected to receive a car wash by the firefighters while they are donating blood. In addition, donors will be entered to win a firefighter birthday party for a child which includes cake and 15 guests of their choice; the birthday party drawing will take place Thursday, July 28 and can be redeemed by July 21, 2017.

If you are unable to make the blood drive, you are still eligible to be entered into the birthday giveaway by donating at the Columbia Blood Assurance donor center from July 14–28.

“We are very excited to be working with the Spring Hill Fire Department and can’t thank them enough for helping save lives in the community each and every day,” said Jennifer Schultz, donor recruiter for Blood Assurance. “At Blood Assurance, we always try and find ways to get involved in the community and working with the firefighters enables that.”
