Spring Hill Crime: How to Protect Yourself and Property

crime story header

Today, we continue our series on Williamson County crime by looking at the crime statistics for the city of Spring Hill and going over some ideas and resources on how to protect yourself and your property should crime cross your path.

Williamson County has a much lower crime rate than the state of Tennessee and the national crime rate index as shown in our National Crime Stats article.

As we all know the Spring Hill population is fast growing and shows no sign of slowing down. While this growth spurs exciting new businesses like movie theaters, restaurants, and hotels it also brings some baggage including more people, traffic, and crime.

In our reader survey, many of our Spring Hill respondents said they feel extremely safe in their communities. Our readers also feel their children are safe at their schools as well. Most Spring Hill residents have not been victims of crime. Those that have been a victim of a crime in the last 3 years, 51% cited theft/burglary/robbery as the main culprit.

Self Defense

So what can you do to better defend yourself and family?  Have you ever thought about taking up martial arts or a self defense class?  There are plenty of options located right here in Spring Hill and neighboring Columbia.

Home Security

ScreenshotWhen asked about home protection over 75% of the respondents had a security system like ADT installed and 91% had a dog on the property. Firearms were in 73% of the homes. Safety is always a concern with firearms and make sure you have a lockbox and take some classes like at Tennessee Personal Protection.
