Spring Hill Christmas Parade Marches Down Main Street

The ninth annual Spring Hill Christmas Parade marched down Main Street on Saturday, despite a little rain.

The floats lined up on Town Center Parkway, and the first one started the route at 5 p.m. And at the end came Santa Claus.

The parade was presented by the Kiwanis Club of Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station.

The parade, with its “Hometown Christmas” theme, went down Main Street and turned left onto Beechroft to Evans Park before turning onto Town Center Parkway. The route was a little different than in past years.

There were plenty of people out lining each part of the route on the chilly December evening, and plenty of lit up floats and music to enjoy.

Included in the parade were the Mule Town Trolley, the Grinch, Santa’s Workshop, Spring Hill Community Choir, Spring Hill Little League and many more.

Unfortunately, the usual marching bands pulled out a few hours before the parade because of weather:

Along with the community braving the wet weather, food vendors came out and set up across from the Tennessee Children’s Home.

For food, vendors Bluegrass Kettle Masters, The Sweet Pastry, Brookman’s Fresh Catch Seafood and Legacy Coffee were all there. Also, the Church of Christ gave out free hot chocolate and popcorn.

The parade was emceed by Channel 5 News’ Steve Hayslip.

It was officiated by State Rep. Sheila Butt, Fox 17 News’ Samantha Russell, (aka ‘Traffic Jam Sam’), Summit High School Principal Sarah Lamb, A. Marshall Family Foods’ Andy Marshall and John Maher from John Maher Homes.

Spring Hill Little League had one of the first floats to go by. Their choice of music, Queen’s “We Are the Champions,” while not exactly a Christmas classic, went well with their baseball snowman.

Santa’s sleigh, pulled not by reindeer but a truck courtesy of the Spring Hill Parks and Rec, was also in end lineup.
