The Tennessee Department of Transportation has recently relocated and re-aligned Long Lane at its intersection with Peytonsville Road. City staff has also found that speed limits on Long Lane are in need of improved directional consistency. Therefore, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen has approved speed limits in both directions for Long Lane, north of Peytonsville Road, as follows:
• Thirty-five miles per hour (35 MPH) from Peytonsville Road to just north of the Williamson County Ag Expo Park.
• Forty-five miles per hour (45 MPH) from the Williamson County Ag Expo Park to the City Limits.
The curve at the north end of the Williamson County Ag Expo Park will continue to be posted with an advisory speed of 25 miles per hour. These speed limit postings should generate more uniformity of travel speeds in their respective portions of Long Lane.
The Franklin Police will be on hand to observe the traffic flow during the first few days to make sure drivers understand the new Speed Limit regulations.
