Southern Polished Offers More Than a Shine

Southern Polished

Southern Polished in the formerly Shoe Repair building on Church Street in Brentwood is a step back in time to all things Southern, with a shoe shine stand, shoe repair and a friendly store atmosphere. It’s all there except maybe the sweet tea.

A family owned business that was started by Trent Potter who previously considered himself a corporate ladder climber. Trent saw a need in the market for easy access to shoe shines along with shoe repairs. Soon Trent enlisted the help of his brother, Heath, former teacher who learned the art of shoe making as a hobby, and his father Norm, a retired Air Force Colonel, each bringing their own expertise. Norm Potter told us, “he expects everything to be done right and customer service is one of our utmost passions.”  As they went about the business of shoe repair, they saw another need in the market—high quality flip flops.

Recently, Southern Polished added to the menu of items they offer. They have begun making custom designed  flip-flops. Not just any flip flop, ones made with one of the finest leathers available—Redenbach leather.  And where do most flip flops break? At the strap. Southern Polished has found a way to resolve that issue by internally stitching and glueing the strap so that it will never pull loose. So, if you are looking for that dressier flip flop for your husband instead of him choosing those oh so clunky comfort shoes to wear out to dinner, you have to give these new shoes at Southern Polished a look. You can customize your shoe based on the strap color. They also offer all of your favorite SEC colors to support your favorite team. Southern Polished told us that Tennessee Vols coach Butch Jones recently purchased a pair of flip flops.

Ladies, don’t think you are left out. Southern Polished also offers ladies flips flops as well in a variety of colors.  In addition, for women, they offer handmade sandals in two styles, tear drop and  a bow style. Niki Taylor, model and Brentwood resident, raves about her Southern Polished flip flops.  See the Facebook post below.

Loving Southern Polished sandals more than any others I've worn! Simply the best:)
