South Nashville Little League Team Win 10-0, Play Again Tonight!

The South Nashville Little League Team is making big headlines yet again. Monday posed as another victory for the Southeast team beating the Mid-Atlantic champions in a 10-run rule resulting in an ending score of 10-0.

The Tennessee team will face Sammamish, Wash. this evening at 7 p. on ESPN2. Washington beat Iowa in last night’s match up to move on to tonight’s game.
Brentwood Academy’s own Knox Preston is making big headlines as he dominated the field. Preston ended the game early when he hit a two-run homer for the team. Preston collided with a Corpus Christi, Texas player in the game this past Saturday hitting his head hard on the ground. However, doctors say he should be just fine, and it looks like they were right! The South Nashville team went on to win that game over Texas 10-2.

Also showing out in yesterday’s game, Zane Denton, Robert Hassell and Ben Pickman who all had two hits to contribute the team’s success. Zane Denton hit a grand slam in the second inning, and right fielder Robert Hassell had a whopping RBI triple ground ball that sent Preston into home plate.

The South Nashville team needs to win tonight and Thursday night’s games to play for the U.S. Championship Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The world championship will be held Sunday at 2 p.m.
