Franklin Dog will be clanging the bell to start National Fire Prevention Week with a five-alarm event for kids and dogs on Saturday, October 5th. Head over to 300 Eddy Lane around 10 a.m. to watch the movie “Firehouse Dog” and meet a fireman and his dog. Also Franklin Dog reminds you that the Franklin 5k Cross Country Fun Run & Dog Dash is that day as well in the Park at Harlinsdale.

The Sound the Alarm for “Firehouse Dog” event is promoting fire safety and prevention with an opportunity for your children to enjoy a great movie and meet a true fireman and his dog. The producers of the movie, “Firehouse Dog,” picked an Irish Terrier for the starring role. Guests will watch the movie, and actually have a real live fireman on site Oct. 5 along with his dog “Harry”, an Irish Terrier.

The Franklin Fire Department can be at your home in no time at all if you have an emergency. But we’ve called way ahead of time and, barring anyone desperately needing them, some of Franklin’s finest will be on location during the event. Bring your best friend and children out for an alarming good time.
