Softball Umpires Needed

Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) is looking for sports-oriented adults and young adults to fill open positions for softball umpires.

These positions are part-time positions, working up to 30 hours per week, mostly nights and weekends, officiating local youth and adult games. Sports officials with experience are preferred, but training may be arranged for those with no officiating experience. There is an immediate need for slow and fast-pitch softball umpires for youth and adult programs. Adults (age 21 and older) may serve as officials for adult or youth leagues, and young adults (age 16-20) may officiate only youth leagues.

Applicants should be familiar with rules and be willing to undergo testing and training by WCPR personnel. All officials are compensated on a per-game basis at competitive rates, and must have reliable transportation. Officials must be prompt, dependable and conscientious.

For more information, contact Gary Stanley at (615) 370-3471, ext. 2121 or Chris Gravlee at (615) 370-3471, ext. 2114.

To apply for a sports official job with WCPR, applicants should access the Williamson County government website, www.williamsoncounty-tn.gov, and complete an on-line application. Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview. A background check is required. Williamson County is an equal-opportunity employer.
