Franklin softball is still alive as they defeated Summit 5-4. The Lady Rebels got a strong outing from Maddy Sherwood to hang on during a dramatic seventh inning, for the win and eliminate the Spartans.
Centennial was also eliminated after their 7-1 loss to Brentwood. The Bruins are also in the losers bracket.
The third Williamson County team in District 11 to lose last night was Ravenwood. The Lady Raptors dropped a 2-1 affair to Dickson County.
In District 12 action, Page High School picked up another win. This one a 3-1 victory over Marshall County.
In a game where neither team scored until the 5th inning, it was Page’s Morgan Rakes who came up with the clutch RBI hit to give the Patriots a 1-0 lead. After Marshall County tied it up in the bottom of the inning, Page High School got the lead back in the seventh with a double that scored two.
With the win, the Lady Patriots are advancing to Spring Hill at Giles County.
Page’s Softball twitter account helps us understand how big of an upset this really was.
To put that win in perspective, Marshall had dominated Page the previous 3 games by a total score of 25-5. @PHSBooster
