Soccer: End of Opening Week

Soccer

The first week of boys soccer is over, and most teams have played two games. Look below to see what kind of luck county teams found in the week that was.

Three teams in AAA District 11 soccer are off to hot starts, especially Franklin, Brentwood and Centennial- neither of the three have been scored on yet.

Brentwood is a very comfortable 2-0, blowing out both its opponents this week. On Tuesday the Bruins beat White House 4-0, then beat Shelbyville 6-0 on Thursday.

Independence has gone up and down, beating Page 5-3 on Tuesday but losing to Centennial 0-3 on Thursday.

Franklin is off to a hot start, just like the Bruins. The Rebels have not given up a goal yet, with a 3-0 win over MBA and a 6-0 win over Cane Ridge.

Centennial, like its District rivals, is 2-0 and outscored its two opponents, LaVergne and Indy, by a combined 6-0.

Summit is 1-0-1, beating Smyrna but tying Stewarts Creek on Thursday 3-3.

Ravenwood beat DCA 6-0 in its season opener, but the Raptors do not play again until the 25th, so it is hard to read too much into what otherwise is a very promising win.

FRA tied BA but lost, just barely, to Ensworth on Wednesday, 1-0.

BGA beat PJPII 4-3 on Tuesday, and demolished Davidson Academy 10-0 on Friday.

BA sits without a loss after two games, 1-0-1. FRA played the Eagles to a tie and University School of Nashville fell 3-2 to them.

Father Ryan beat Hendersonville on Tuesday and plays at Oakland High School Saturday afternoon.

CPA beat Notre Dame earlier in the week, and East Ham on Friday night. The Lions scored three first half goals against EH.

Page, after losing to Indy, beat Lipscomb 3-1, and was up 1-0 at the half on Friday versus MLK at the time of this post.

Spring Hill lost to Hickman Co on Tuesday, in a hard fought 3-4 effort.

Fairview is 2-0, and had an especially impressive win in beating Richland 10-1 on Thursday.
