Soccer: Franklin Hits Back of the Net 10 Times

The Franklin Rebels sure looked like a team ready to repeat in tonight’s match with Summit.

Summit was going for the shocker early and drew first blood in this district match-up.

After Franklin quickly equalized, the Spartans answered with a second goal to make it 2-1 Summit.

Franklin, however, would score 4 unanswered goals to take a 5-2 lead into the break.

The final 45 minutes was all Franklin. The Rebels matched their first half production and didn’t allow another ball past their keeper.

Allister Berger notched a hattrick in this one, Evan Forrest and Austin Wimberely found the back of the net twice as well.

After all the cancellations, Franklin is now 2-0 on the season.

The defending State Champions have a big meeting with the Bruins tomorrow.

On a muddy and rainy pitch, the Patriots doubled up on their 1-Nill lead when a shot by Jacob Metkler was deflected and found the foot of Colton Heyen who finished the goal.

Metkler would score later on in the match. Heyen scored one more time and Henderson added two, to round out the scoring for Page High School.

The Patriots are back in action at Marshall County on Monday.
