Let me start by saying if Snowmageddon doesn’t happen, I am blaming Krogers. Rumors of stock running low on milk at the Krogers on Highway 96 Saturday afternoon, shows just how seriously Middle Tennesseeans are taking this late winter storm.

Depending on who you believe, 3″-8″ of snow, or ice and snow, or sleet and snow, is possible by your Monday morning commute. Good news, with tomorrow being a holiday, schools are closed. Bad news, conditions may be so bad that aftercares and daycares will not be able to open. In a tweet from Dr. Looney:

Compound all of this with the fact it’s not predicted above freezing through Friday (including single digit lows) and it could be a long week.

TDOT and County began brining roads as early as Friday afternoon. And with freezing precip in any form there is the fear of power outages.

Here’s some things, while the weather is good you might check:

  • Batteries
  • Candles
  • Working Lighter
  • Charge all cell phones , etc.
  • If you have to go out, pack cold weather survival kit in your vehicle.
  • Bring in your pets, or give them somewhere dry and warm to stay.
  • Elderly neighbors you might check on to make sure they have the above items.
