Slo-Mo is the Way of Studio Novo

Studio Novo is about making changes to your  body but not like what you typically think when you exercise.  Raise your hand if you have visited other workouts where they pull out the stopwatch and say, “See how many push ups you can do in one minute.”   And if you think how could doing  an exercise slow give you any benefit at all?  Let us explain.

Studio Novo brought the Lagree Fitness Method to the Franklin area last summer. The Lagree method is unlike any other workout method out there and one of the differences is that all exercises are performed slowly. At Studio Novo, slow is strong!

The slower the movement, the more effective the exercise is; more muscles are reached with the slow pace and the slow twitch muscles are reached quicker. The goal is to work the slow twitch muscles, in order to lengthen and define the muscles, and the best way to do that is by going slow against the Megaformer tension.

Most other fitness methods out there focus on how many reps you can get, but at Novo, the focus is on how slow you can go, while keeping constant tension on the muscles. The slow, continuous, constant tension is the goal in each and every exercise, for the best results!

The workout is performed on a machine called the Megaformer, which is a spring based system. When working with and against the resistance, the slow pace is key to reaching optimum results!
