Slick Roads Causing Traffic Accidents, Local Police Advice People to Stay Home

If you have to be on the roads today, Franklin police remind drivers that they need to slow down. Although it may not look like much happened overnight, ice is on the roads and cause some serious accidents.

Current accident reports:

65 N, near Murfreesboro Road, vehicle spun out and hit median
65N, near mile marker 64
65N, just south of McEwen, 2 vehicles involved, estimated clear time 9:15am.
65S at the 68a
3-car crash 65S at the 62

SPRING HILL ICE REPORT: Main collector streets in Spring Hill are mostly clear with some occasional slick spots. Neighborhood streets are not salted. Public Works is now salting bridges throughout the city. Please be extremely careful when driving, even if roads appear clear. The occasional slick spots have caused a high number of accidents this morning throughout the middle Tennessee area.

NOLENSVLLE POLICE: Roadways in Nolensville are currently icy and becoming dangerous. Please stay home if possible and/or wait until later in the day to leave your residence. Please use caution when driving roadways currently look wet but are icy.

FAIRVIEW POLICE: Currently Roads in Fairview are very slick but negotiable. If you must travel use caution and allow time to brake for the vehicle in front of you! Take it slow!

TN Highway Patrol reminds drivers that as roads are salted and ice/snow melts, be minful that bridges and overpasses will refreeze before other areas of the roadway, look for black ice.
